NOTE FROM JUDY
1. Finally! A movie, Master and Commander--taken from a novel by one of my favorite authors, Patrick O'Brian--appears on the horizon. Why is a landlubber like me so excited by a series set primarily on the waterways of the world?
About 11 years ago, my then-boss, Ray Sullivan, loaned me the first book in the Aubrey-Maturin series. He said that if I enjoyed it, he'd loan me the remainder of the books. The characters, plot, and settings quickly burst into life. O'Brian weaves dry wit and deep sensitivity throughout his books. And I learned so much about geography, geology, biology, economics, psychology, religion, music, politics, medicine, treason, food, romance, climate, and life at sea.
If you're looking for entertainment, education, and enlightenment, consider reading Master and Commander. If you stick with it, it will grow on you.

Or, if you just want to close everything without saving, the Close command has been changed to Close All. [Thanks to Neat Net Tricks - mailto:info-neatnettricks@silver.lyris.net]

Question: Which is correct?
I have seven years teaching experience. I have seven years' teaching experience. I have seven year's teaching experience.
Answer: Prentice Hall Reference Guide to Grammar and Usage, fifth edition, by Muriel Harris says (28a), "For plural nouns ending in -s, add only an apostrophe." It gives "six days' vacation" as an example.
