NOTE FROM JUDY
1. Last month's winner of Mrs. Bluezette's Grammar Guide: Writing Tips for Broadcast News was Grzegorz Chroscinski, Poland. A number of enthusiastic people joined in the fun.
2. I'm giving away another Grammar Guide this month, thanks to Mona Scott (Mrs. Bluezette). Website: http://www.newsblues.com/grammar.htm I'll collect all emails submitted the first two days after publication, then do a random drawing for the winner. Send your entry to:
mailto:judyvorfeld@webgrammar.com?Subject=GrammarGuide.
3. What an honor to have Webgrammar's site reviewed by The Scout Report. http://scout.cs.wisc.edu/Reports/ScoutReport/2003/scout-030912-re.php#5
4. I recently upgraded the design and layout on Webgrammar.com, thanks to the gentle nudging of long-time ezine subscriber Michael W. I'm still fine-tuning it to get rid of all the gremlins!

DID YOU KNOW - DIFFERENT THAN VS. DIFFERENT FROM
Question: Which is correct: "different FROM..." or "different THAN..."?
Answer: Mona Scott, author of Mrs. Bluezette's Grammar Guide (2002) says:
"Different than"? Don't use it. It's that simple. Things differ FROM each other.

Understanding how that stuff is put together, how it can be used, how it can be changed and made better to do more amazing things - even creating completely new kinds of stuff: that's what materials science is all about. http://www.StrangeMatterExhibit.com
