DID YOU KNOW - USING COMMAS AFTER NAMES LIKE "JR" & "INC"
The Gregg Reference Manual, Ninth Edition (2001), says (123f): "...In personal names and company names, the trend is not to set off elements like Jr., Sr., III, Inc., or Ltd. (for example, Guy Tracy Jr. and Redd Inc.); however, individual preferences should be respected when known."
In (156) Gregg says: "Do not use commas to set off Jr., Sr. or roman or arabic numerals following a person's name unless you know that the person in question prefers to do so."
In (159) Gregg says: "Do not use commas to set off Inc., Ltd., and similar expressions in a company name unless you know that a particular company prefers to do so."
We're talking trends, not rules.
