    NOTE FROM JUDY

I've combined May and June issues because of a number of
deadlines and activities. Thanks for your patience, and I hope you
    enjoy this issue.

WINDOWS KEYSTROKES & TIPS - Hide all windows

To get to your Desktop in a hurry, press the Windows key (the one
with the Windows icon - usually in the same row as the spacebar),
and the "d" key. You're taken immediately to your Desktop. Clicking
Windows+d again takes you back to your open windows.

DID YOU KNOW - Punctuation for closely linked nouns

I am in the process of writing an invitation to a
wedding anniversary for friends of mine. Is it correct to say:
Bryan and Brittany's Anniversary - or should I say: Bryan's and
    Brittany's anniversary?

Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition, University of Chicago Press,
(7.24) says that closely linked nouns are considered a single unit
in forming the possessive when the entity "possessed" is the same
for both; only the second element takes the possessive form.

    Thus: Bryan and Brittany's anniversary.

DICTIONARY OF AMERICANISMS, BY JOHN RUSSELL BARTLETT (1848)
As a record of the "colloquial language of the United States," it's a
fascinating look at the words that actually came out of the mouths of
early 19th-century Americans. It's also a window into U. S. history,
with tiny essays on early political parties, economics, and culture;
its collection of quotes offers later readers examples from a wide
variety of early-19th-century works.
