NOTE FROM JUDY

  1. Late last year I was introduced to Dr. Clair Hinckley, and she has since become
part of my local think tank tribe. We meet monthly to toss around ideas about small
businesses, both for profit and nonprofit, and marketing and presentation related
to such businesses. We've been known to mentor a few people who needed a nudge in
    the right direction.

Dr. Clair currently focuses on SAT and TBI. What do they have in common? The brain.
And she's one savvy woman where cognitive skills are concerned. Right now she's
saturated with her A-Z Sat WordPower System, offering her programs to Greater Phoenix
schools http://www.a-zsat.com/index.html. Later she will be working on her Brain
Recovery Support System http://brainrecoverysupport.com/. She's full of wonderful
ideas! What a delight to be a part of her support team as she builds her programs
so that many more people can be helped.

  2. You may have notice a gap in publication of Food for Thought. I'm going to
publish on a quarterly basis. It gives me more time to discover websites that will
help you in this time of information overload.

GRAMMAR, USAGE and STYLE - Crowdsourcing

Definition of CROWDSOURCING
"... the practice of obtaining needed services, ideas, or content by soliciting contributions from a large group of people and especially from the online community rather than from traditional employees
or suppliers.

Origin of CROWDSOURCING
2crowd + outsourcing
First Known Use: 2006"

By permission. From Merriam-Webster's Collegiate(R) Dictionary at
www.m-w.com by Merriam-Webster, Incorporated

Crowdsourcing, says Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowdsourcing) is the
act of outsourcing tasks, traditionally performed by an employee or contractor,
to an undefined, large group of people or community (crowd), through an open call.

Jeff Howe, one of first authors to employ the term, established that the concept
of crowdsourcing depends essentially on the fact that because it is an open call to
an undefined group of people, it gathers those who are most fit to perform tasks,
solve complex problems and contribute with the most relevant and fresh ideas.
