DID YOU KNOW - Capitalizing "mother" and "father," etc.
Q. I get so confused as to when to capitalize "mom," "dad," etc.
Capitalize words that indicate family relationships when the word is used as a substitute for a specific name. Otherwise, use lower case. Examples:
Her elderly mother was ill. They went to his father's office. I explained that Mother was ill. (Substitute for a specific name.) Let's go to Dad's office. (Substitute for a specific name.)
