1. Finally. A website for listening, reading, and writing practice in English. English-trailers.com uses movie trailers (commercials) as the basis for learning better English. It has a video component as well. I've had others recommend learning ESL via watching English-speaking movies, but until now haven't found a website that presents learning and is also family safe. http://www.english-trailers.com. English-trailers is a nonprofit, educational website.
But it's more than for ESL. Many English-speaking people in the Western world have difficulty with our language. English-Trailers is also for them. If you know of anyone (with a computer that supports video), tell them about English-trailers. The trailers are the property of Dream- works, an enterprise started in the 1990s by Stephen Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenburg, and David Geffen.
2. I've just opened another business site, Digifeld, primarily aimed at supporting small businesses and pet owners: http://www.digifeld.com - and if you want to meet the latest member of the Vorfeld family, go to this page: http://www.digifeld.com/Shadow.html. There's nothing like being a proud parent/pet owner!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- WINDOWS KEYSTROKES & TIPS - F4, F1, and F11
F4 key displays the Address Bar History Window. F1 key displays Internet Explorer Help. When you find the answer you need and want to print it, place your mouse over the help text, right click, then click on Print. F11 key toggles between a full screen and one with toolbars. If you want to read more at a time, chose this function key.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- DID YOU KNOW - The difference between "can" and "could"
Whether used in a question or a statement, "can" means "to be able to." On the other hand, "could" is better used for a sense of uncertainty. Examples: "I can meet you at noon." (This is definite.) "I could meet you at noon." (This is more uncertain, but almost begs for something like "...but 12:30 would be better.")
